Sound Oil PLC (SOU) have added an eighth Italian exploration  permit to their existing assets in Indonesia and Italy.

The Colle Ginestre licence, lies in the Southern Apennines fairway,  adjacent to the Cupello-San Salvo field which has produced over 330 Bscf from the Pliocene play.

In today’s announcement CEO Gerry Orbell said “Sound Oil is very pleased to have been awarded the new licence onshore Italy, one of our core areas in which we have built an extensive portfolio. The new licence contains some attractive new prospects and leads in close proximity to existing discoveries in a very prolific gas province”

SOU share price touched 4.5p today on the news adding to recent gains. Shareroundup believes there is plenty more  to come.
